If you’re thinking about following a training course or an apprenticeship in the near future, now is the time to start doing your research.
Not all training providers are the same and choosing the right company to deliver your training could make a real difference to your future salary and career prospects.
Here at CMS, we strive to provide high-quality training for school leavers and those already in work, from apprenticeships in accountancy, business management, HR and IT to training for fitness professionals.
But don’t just take our word for it; our recent Learner Satisfaction Survey of our vocational training will give you a clearer picture of the experiences of our learners – and why they are keen to recommend CMS as a training provider.
Our survey was carried out between 14 November 2019 and 17 February 2020.
A total of 46 learners took part: 58% were aged 16-18 and 42% were aged 19+ at the start of the programme.
Overall satisfaction levels
The average extent to which a learner’s expectations were met during their apprenticeship was 8.2 out of 10. This excellent result was backed up by an 88% satisfaction rate that the apprenticeship they followed had prepared them for what to do next. Furthermore, 89% said they were likely to recommend CMS Vocational Training to family and friends.
The satisfaction level was also in evidence in the written comments from those surveyed, for example:
“Workshops were brilliant and really informative.”
“I think that CMS are a very good training provider. The work and tasks were interesting and detailed, and my tutor was a great help throughout.”
Satisfaction with tutors and teaching
One of the most important aspects of our approach as a training provider is the knowledge and support offered by our experienced tutors.
This is clear in the responses to questions about our tutors, in particular:
- 98% were satisfied with the teaching received, with more than half (51%) saying they were extremely satisfied
- 95% were satisfied with the tutor support, with 72% extremely satisfied
- 95% were satisfied with the way staff treated them, with 77% extremely satisfied
- 88% were satisfied that staff responded to learners’ views, with 72% extremely satisfied
- 95% were satisfied with the level of knowledge and expertise of the training staff, with 72% extremely satisfied
Again, this was reflected in comments from learners:
“[My tutor] was so helpful throughout my entire apprenticeship – she made me feel a lot more confident about the assessments which really helped me.”
“[My tutor] has made the whole process so much easier for me, she has been there whenever I have needed help with my work or whenever I have had an issue within my workplace. Without having my tutor I think I would have found things much harder and I cannot thank her enough for all her time she has given me.”
“I feel comfortable speaking to my tutor about anything and have really enjoyed having her as my assessor, she always made me feel motivated by giving me challenging work and giving me more tasks to do for if I had any quiet days.”
Benefits of the apprenticeship
When asked about how the apprenticeship was likely to benefit them moving forward, our learners once again were able to offer plenty of positive feedback.
More than half (55.81%, 24 responses) said they felt they would be more likely to get the job they want following the apprenticeship, while a similar number (58.14%, 25 responses) said that they were now earning more money than when they started the apprenticeship.
More than 79% said that they were now better at their job, and 74.2% said they had more responsibilities in their role than when they started the apprenticeship.
There’s no doubt that the overall feedback from our learners has been positive and, in many cases, exceptionally good.
As always, we will not rest on our laurels but will continue to strive to meet and exceed learners’ expectations while maintaining high standards and seeking out ways to further improve our offer.
